The Brief
For people who run the monthly numbers

Get set up with AI by someone who runs a business on it.

The Setup is a folder your own Claude runs with you. In the first session it learns who you are and how you work. By the end of the week it drafts your monthly commentary from your own numbers and checks each figure against a cell.

02
The Setup

Your monthly commentary, drafted from your own numbers and checked.

Claude reads files before it does anything. The Setup is the folder it reads first, and the check that ties every figure in the draft to a cell in your file.

01 · Session one

Claude interviews you and writes the file itself: who you are, what you work on, how you like the work done.

02 · By the end of the week

Your monthly commentary, or the numbers job you name, drafted from your own numbers. Each figure is checked against a cell; if more than two fail, it stops and asks.

03 · Next month

You run it again from the file, not from a blank chat. You sign off every draft.

Methodology

The deployment sequence.

Five stages, in order. Skip a stage and the advantage fails to compound. Each stage names the owner, the artefact, and the check that keeps judgement with the professional.

The Playbook

You are not behind on AI. You are exactly who it was built for.

The professionals who think they're late to AI are the ones best positioned to use it. Decades of domain expertise is the multiplier, not the obstacle. The Q3 2026 update of The AI Playbook maps the tools, the landscape, and four worked scenarios from the desks of senior operators. One 45-minute read.

Written by a former PwC Senior Assurance Associate and Head of Finance. Field-tested across four businesses in finance, property, and hospitality.

The PDF reaches your inbox in about 90 seconds, then two short follow-up emails. Unsubscribe any time.

New to Claude? Get the foundations strong.

The Claude Foundations Playbook: set up once in 45 minutes, then six growth workflows with every prompt written out in full. For operators senior at their craft and new to Claude. No technical background assumed.

Running Claude itself as a system is a different job from applying one platform to your field. That is The Claude Power-User Playbook, below.

The Power-User Series

Most people use a tenth of Claude. This is the other nine.

The Claude Power-User Playbook is a non-technical guide to running Claude as a system rather than a chat window: the three surfaces, a setup that already knows your standards, and a memory that compounds. Cross-vertical, with a governance step in every chapter.

The 5 seriesThree models. All on 5. The Playbook covers which one each job belongs to.

Sonnet 5

The everyday default

The best balance of speed and intelligence, and the standard model on Free and Pro. Where most work should sit.

1M-token context · roughly 2,500 pages

Opus 5

The default heavyweight

Judgement-heavy reasoning, long documents, and accuracy-critical work, at half Fable’s price per token.

1M-token context · roughly 2,500 pages

Fable 5

The frontier tier

The most capable Claude available to the public. A deliberate choice for the job that earns it, never a default.

1M-token context · roughly 2,500 pages

Haiku 4.5 rounds out the line-up for quick lookups and high-volume work. The Playbook’s routing rule: match the model to the task, not the task to the model.

  • A setup that already knows your standards, through projects and CLAUDE.md
